Robert E. Bunch has been with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida (BCBSF) since April 1984. He began his duties with BCBSF as an Internal Auditor, and later moved to the Fraud Investigation Unit within the Internal Audit Department. The unit is now known as the Special Investigation Unit and reports through to the Vice President/Chief Audit Executive. Among other duties, Robert personally investigates allegations of insurance fraud and theft against providers, subscribers and BCBSF employees.

Prior to employment with BCBSF, he was a Police Officer/Deputy Sheriff with the Jacksonville, Florida Sheriff’s Office for over seven years.

Robert earned a BBA degree from the University of North Florida with a major in Accounting. He is an Accredited Health Care Fraud Investigator, Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Internal Auditor. Robert has given fraud awareness presentations at conferences sponsored by the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association, the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Association, the Institute of Internal Auditors and various other law enforcement and professional groups.
