Jason Lafser, CFE 

Jason's practice emphasis is in tax planning and preparation for commercial business and individuals and business management consulting services. He is experienced in the Healthcare, retail, real estate, small and large business segments. He is a member of the American Institute of CPA's, Florida Institute of CPA's and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Florida and a Bachelors degree in business from Murray State University.

 

Chapter Vice President

Tera White-GunterShe is the team lead and a senior forensic investigator for Safeguard Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Hewlett Packard. She has 24 years experience in government healthcare insurance-Medicare with 18 years experience in a unit investigating Medicare fraud. Safeguard Services, LLC has a contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to conduct fraud investigations across Medicare Parts A and B, Medicaid, Durable Medical Equipment, Home Health and Hospice. They conduct analysis of claims data, provider on-site reviews and refer providers suspected of fraud to both federal and state law enforcement agencies. She works closely with the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, Office of Investigations; the State Office of Inspector General, Medicaid Program Integrity; the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and the Office of Attorney General.

She has been a CFE for 10 years.

 Cynthia Dangerfield

Cynthia Dangerfield, RN, CPC, has worked in the Medicare Program Integrity arena for the past 12 years. She is currently a Senior Forensic Investigator and clinical support liaison at SafeGuard Services, LLC. Before joining SGS, Cynthia performed several diverse functions within the J9 MAC, First Coast Service Options, Inc., including provider education, data analysis quality improvement, and medical research consulting on behalf of the medical director. Prior clinical nursing experience includes psychiatry, pediatrics, neonatal intensive care, and general medical-surgical nursing, as well as case and utilization management for Medicaid recipients. She recently achieved certification in medical procedural coding with the American Academy of Professional Coders. A Charleston, SC native, Cynthia has lived in Jacksonville since 1993 and makes her home in the Riverside-Avondale neighborhood.

Andrea Valentin

Andrea Lee Valentin, CFE has over 10 years experience in the financial services industry and is currently the VP and Director of Account Administration at FSV Payment Systems, Inc. in Jacksonville where she oversees the company's fraud management and operational compliance team. She has a BA in accounting from the University of Central Florida and a MBA in Economic Crime and Fraud Management from Utica College. Andrea's case, Small Town Boys, appears in Joseph Wells' "Internet Fraud Casebook: The World Wide Web of Deceit”. Andrea is the current Jacksonville Financial Fraud Examiner for Examiner.com and frequently contributes articles to eHow.
