Becoming The Everyday Ethicist

Amanda “Jo” Erven

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

In this session, we will explore “The Big Me” in action across the globe. We will dissect real-life cases, including a major healthcare crisis in our country and the major “unethical” players involved. Then we will explore the role of "The Ethical Rationalizer” and why we tend to consciously or unconsciously rationalize away our unethical behavior due to specific blind spots that exist. Lastly, we will shift our focus to "The Everyday Ethicist™," and learn how to adopt values and behaviors that will improve our society’s ethical culture, one person at a time.
